Meet Border Singles Over 60
Living in Albury Wodonga means having two state governments to grumble about instead of one, which locals regard as excellent value. Over 60s here cross the Murray without a second thought, and a date might easily start in one state and finish in the other.
The Wagirra Trail is a sealed, flat path about 2.5 metres wide that follows the Murray through Albury's riverside parks towards Wonga Wetlands, with sculptures by local Aboriginal artists along the way. Back in town, the Albury Botanic Gardens were established in 1877, cover 4 hectares and specialise in Australian rainforest plants.
The Murray Art Museum Albury on Dean Street is free to enter and sits beside QEII Square. On the Victorian side, the loop around Belvoir Lake in Wodonga is about 1.5 kilometres of sealed, flat path, with seats along the water and plenty of waterbirds to point at.
